House in the Suburbs - Kerry Zukus

Demo. Book, music, and lyrics by Kerry Zukus. Vocals by Marcy DeGonge-Manfredi and Loni Ackerman. "The Honeymooners ... The Musical" is a musical-comedy interpretation of the classic television sitcom, set in its most memorable period, the mid-1950's. As the men leave for some revelry at the local pub, Norton's wife Trixie, Alice's best friend, commiserates with Alice. Together, they hatch a plot to sneak behind their husband's backs to get part-time jobs; dreaming of how they'd spend the extra cash. LYRICS House In The Suburbs, Thoroughly modern Some pink flamingos, Out in my garden. House In The Suburbs, That's where I want to be. House In The Suburbs, Home in my heart, A new split level, And my own yard. House In The Suburbs, It's such a dream to me. When friends come over, We'll play charades. When they get hungry, Serve canapés'. Some Montevonni on the Victrola, It sounds delightful, So come on over. House In the Suburbs, Do what we like. We'll be as happy As Mamie and Ike. House In the Suburbs; That's the life for me. House In The Suburbs, Reclining chairs, Serve TV dinners, From my Fridgidair. House In The Suburbs, Thoroughly modern me. He'll take up golfing, And I'll wear pearls, We'll buy a Philco, To watch Milton Berle. A new DeSoto will fill our garage. With flashy tailfins Very, very large. House In The Suburbs, Oh, what a thrill. If I get nervous, I'll just take a pill. House in the Suburbs; Who wouldn't kill to be. House In the Suburbs; It'd be so neat ...
